תקציר
The Smart Social Strategy (3S) Lab at the Technion is a multidisciplinary research lab dedicated to designing and redefining public policy in general, and socio-spatial policy in particular. The lab connects technological tools associated with the “smart city” paradigm with advanced public participation practices, addressing the gap between data-driven urban systems and the social realities of cities. Working in partnership with municipalities, non-profit organizations, and local communities, the lab develops innovative approaches to urban planning, management, and decision-making through collaborative and co-production models. The lab serves both as a research environment and as a technology-supported situation room that enables the integration of local knowledge, visual methods, spatial data, and participatory processes into urban policy and planning. Given the thematic focus of this panel on digital methods, visual representations, and the production of knowledge in socio-spatial contexts, we propose to host the session at the Smart Social Strategy Lab. Holding the panel within the lab will provide participants with direct exposure to the research environment, methodologies, and technological infrastructure that support interdisciplinary work at the intersection of society, space, data, and public policy.
