תקציר

Over the centuries, the Hebrew Bible has been partitioned into various structural subunits—including chapters, parashiyot, and sedarim—with each system reflecting distinct interpretive and liturgical criteria.

Using the free Two Hills Lab platform for distant reading and analysis, this lecture proposes innovative explanations for the methodology behind these historical divisions by uncovering their underlying structural 'algorithms.' By applying a computational and analytical lens to these ancient boundaries, we will explore how algorithmic patterns can decode the rationale behind the partitioning of sacred texts.

Ultimately, this analysis will illuminate how these systematic division methods evolved over time, shaping the standardized Jewish and Christian biblical formats that are universally utilized today.
